Who Am I?

Hi, my name is Haileigh Gattinella and I am a freshmen this year.  I have lived in Rhode Island my whole life with my parents and my little sister.  I am studying to become an Elementary/Special Education teacher.  Over winter break, I spent a lot of time hanging with my family and friends.  My favorite thing I did over vacation was going away with my best friend Katelyn.  We spent over a week in Florida visiting her family in Fort Lauderdale and mine in Miami.  I was able to see my little cousins, who if I am lucky, I get to see every one to two years.  We spent a lot of time going to three different beaches and numerous shopping places.  We also got to go horse back riding and hit around at the driving range.
I am taking this class because it is part of education majors requirements to apply to the school of education.
When I am not in class I enjoy playing softball.  I have been playing softball for over 12 years now.  I have played on numerous recreation teams, three travel teams that played year round, and all four years I was in high school.  I danced for 14 years starting at the age of two and a half.  I have been to competitions for one of the classes I was in.  I also spend a lot of time working at a daycare.  I work with children who are 3 and 4 years old and I work with children who are in elementary school.  I love doing volunteer work for the Special Olympics.  I was on a state level committee last year for all the high schools in the state.  I have talked at two forums.  One forum had over 400 people there and the other had 100.  I was able to present at one with Michelle Kwan.  I have played on a Little League Challengers Baseball team for 4 years with young kids who have disabilities.  In the summer I spend a lot of time at the beach.  I love watching and playing football!  I also love spending time with my family and friends.
